"Nature, Art & a Healthier You"

This not-for-profit, founded in 1998, operates its objectives at a very special place called Woodhull, in rural Steuben County, New York. Kiva offers rustic camping for a "chop wood, carry water experience," or slightly less primative retreat accommodations according to need, and to individuals experiencing various sorts of crisis in their lives...Kiva offers support to sincere seekers of personal growth and healing. Kiva also offers space and art materials for work on personal expression through art. Visitors may also receive some animal therapy through interaction with Alpacas (some owned by Close-Knit Alpacas), gentle donkeys, playful pygmy goats, softly clucking chickens, and delightful ducks.

 

It is the mission of Southern Tier Hospice & Palliative Care to affirm life through a team of caring professionals and volunteers.

What does the organization provide?

Interdisciplinary service to patients with life limiting illness and their families in Chemung, Steuben and Schuyler Counties in (New York)

Education regarding Hospice, end of life issues and palliative care.

Support for bereaved individuals, families and community.

STHPC is a local non-profit professional health care organization with a staff of over 50 employees, including an interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, spiritual care counselors, and home health aides.

In addition, STHPC has over 70 trained volunteers to help provide assistance. 

In 2005, approximately 595 patients and families were served by STHPC in Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben counties.
