The above numbers illustrate that Alpacas in the USA's plan is to cap the number of participants at 20% of the number of herds registered to the Alpaca Registry in any given state at any given time. Today (as of April 2010) this twenty percent represents fewer than 2700 TOTAL participants out of a general industry "marketplace" of approximately 12,300 farms/herds. This is assuming all twenty percent Join Up with Alpacas in the USA and are active in the alpaca industry, utilizing the impact movie(s) and website. Ten percent is an ambitious goal and would represent 1300 total participants. It's anticipated that we may reach that goal in 2010!
