Close-Knit purchased its first animals during the summer and early fall of 2004, and began with three females, three males, three geldings and two male crias that were born before we got their mother's home to the farm. In 2009, Close-Knit now has 11 breeding-age Dams, 4 weanling females, 2 weanling males, 4 Jr. Herd Sire prospects, 1 Gelding, plus 6 finely fleeced Herd Sires with great density, staple length and superb conformation. They comprise our present foundation herd. The non-profit that makes its home here on Moon Ivy Hill, known as The Kiva Connection, was given a non-breeding companion female, "Ms. Millie," and she hangs out with our herd, too. We also board, or "agist," alpacas for other people, and all of those boarded are For Sale, so contact us to schedule a time for you to come out for a visit to meet everyone!
Close-Knit holds a New York State Animal Health Permit...Plus, all Alpacas on the property are tested BVDV/PCR and TB Free and receive routine and monthly health care and handling.
