Licensees also enjoy visibility on an elegant,
user-friendly web site; a web-based store, filled with hundreds of items
available for purchase with the "Alpacas in the USA!" logo and slogan
emblazoned on them; and exclusive, high-quality radio advertisements
customized for each Licensee's farm. All marketing tools are offered
signed Licensees on an "ala carte" basis.
Becoming a member of
A/USA involves submission of the Application (click on the picture to
the right), confirmation of invitation, full execution of the Licensing
Agreement (extended to new farms after approval of their application),
and payment of all associated fees.
Holding a Licensing
Agreement for either the Premier or Suri impact movies is required of
all participants before any other marketing tools may be purchased. The
License provides limited use of the impact movie and the rights to
publish, email, display, purchase copies from A/USA, and they may design
and utilize packaging promoting their own farm or business with their
own images, colors and logo (the A/USA logo must also be displayed
somewhere on the packaging, though, as well). When you're a Licensee,
you may give copies of this little movie away to anyone you want to!
This helps create more informed buyers of alpacas, before they even have
a chance to visit the A/USA Licensees' farms. The Licensing Fee is
renewable annually and includes a website subscription to
www.AlpacasInTheUSA.com for as long as you're a Licensee in good
standing.
A non-refundable Application Fee must accompany any Application
Form (step #1).
Additionally, a modest Enrollment/Administrative fee is
required for enrollment to the A/USA program and Initial Setup onto the
A/USA website. This fee is payable along with the Premier Licensing fee,
approximately 7 to 10 days after the Application has been received by
A/USA and when the Application has been approved by Wren Owens, the
copyright holder (step #2). The primary reason an applicant may be
turned away might be due to the maximum number of participants for the
applicant's state already being met. In order to maintain a smaller but
still effective group of participants and so that we are not a group
that simply joins into our association whomever pays out money to join,
the Application process is necessary. Further, the intent is not to
have more than 20% of the number of ARI registered alpaca herds in the
USA at any given time in any given state.
No other fees shall be required in the future other than the
annual renewal of the License(s) held and now combined with the website
subscription (currently $220/year). There are fees associated with
other marketing tools and offerings which are optional.
THE SECOND IMPACT MOVIE, specifically about SURI alpacas,
is in the final stages of production and will soon be released.
Licenses for this particular marketing tool are offered "ala
carte" to present Premier I.M. Licensees, as well as any new Applicants.
The opportunity for purchasing both Licenses is available, and for
substantial savings.
